ISC – Alberta Region COVID-19

“On March 18 2020, the Indigenous Community Support Fund was announced which included $15 million in supports for Indigenous organizations and communities providing services to Indigenous peoples in urban centres including off-reserve members.  This funding was accessed through a Call for Proposals which was launched on April 6.  Due to the overwhelming response and request for supports, an additional $75 million in funding was announced on May 21.  There will be no second call for proposals, as all eligible respondents to the original Call for Proposals have been invited to re-confirm their interest and indicate if their needs have evolved since their initial submission in April 2020, which may include food security, mental health support services, Elder supports, sanitation and protective equipment.  Deadline for these confirmations is June 8, 2020 11:59 PST.”

As the Dene Tha’ First Nation did not respond to the Initial Call for Proposals to provide services to it’s off-reserve members, they will not qualify for funding in the new additional funding allocation, the original respondents are asked to re-confirm their interest to receive the additional funding.

While the Dene Tha’ First Nation continues to provide support in response to COVID-19 Pandemic initiatives to their members on Reserve, all off-reserve members are encouraged to contact Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta in Edmonton to inquire their eligibility as follows:
