The Dene Tha’ First Nation has two positions available immediately based out of the Rising Generations Daycare Centre in Bushe River. One position is for a term full-time childcare worker and the other position is for a temporary part-time cook.

Childcare Worker Position

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan, organize and lead daily activities that aim to stimulate the intellectual, physical and emotional growth of children
  • Must assist with the preparation of educational programs
  • Maintain constant supervision indoors and outdoors
  • Assist the children with their everyday needs

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Child Care Level 2 certificate (*Must provide a copy)
  • Valid First Aid / CPR certification (*Must provide a copy)
  • Must be dependable and reliable with strong communication skills
  • Must be capable of taking instruction from supervisor
  • Enjoy working with young children
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s licence and must have reliable transportation

The Successful Candidate must maintain and provide a clean criminal record check and a child vulnerable sector check when requested; must also live in the area as travel is not provided.

Cook Position

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare lunches, along with morning and afternoon snacks
  • Must plan and display a weekly menu and ensure all meals and snacks are adapted to children who have allergies
  • Ensure proper food storage
  • Ensure the kitchen area is sanitized and in proper order

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Food Safety certificate (*Must provide a copy)
  • Valid First Aid / CPR certification (*Must provide a copy)
  • Must have a good understanding of Canada’s Food Guide
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Must be dependable and reliable
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s licence and must have reliable transportation
