I would like to make this Annoucement to all Firefighter’s in Our Great Nation,
that you are not Forgotten. I would like to make it my Mission to revive our
Firefighters Spark. I can tell you from a firefighter’s perspective; We are Proud
Folk, Simple, and we understand the Nature in what we’re walking into. This
Lifestyle has been in our livelihood for generations before our grandfathers,
and it will remain here beyond our grandchildren. Now is the time to past down
our knowledge to the younger generation who are interested in learning more
about this Industry. So I would like to take this moment to reach out to all who
would be interested in taking the Firetack Training Program, but I also would
like to reach out to those firetack members whose certification number has
expired, I may have found a way to renew your certification. So right now, I have
Firetack Training Applications with all the receptionist at all 3 band offices, I
will sharing this information with Economic and Social Development teams to
better assist our members. What I would like to do is to gather as many
applications as possible in this short time to build a case. I want to see if it be
possible to have our very first Firetack Training Program here on one of our
reserves. Forestry is calling this ‘Firetack Community Training Initiative
Program’ and they are allowing us to take control of our own firetack training.
Again, this is just in the preliminary stages, it is an idea and I feel we need to
start getting more involved with our firefighters. This is where I need your help, I
need our communities participation in spreading the word, and filling out
applications, and I can assure you that numbers speak louder together.
I do believe we need to work as a whole nation to give back to our firefighters
the due respect needed to rekindle that flame, give back their dignity, their
integrity. And if you know a Firefighter, shake their hand, give a little pat on the
back and tell them ‘Thank You’. Again us firefighters are simple folk, we take
pride in our work, and a small gesture goes a long way for us
