DTFN Natural Gas Utility

Reliable Energy. Safe Communities. Serving Our Members.

The DTFN Natural Gas Utility provides essential natural gas and propane services to on-reserve members in our three communities: Chateh, Bushe River, and Meander River, located within Treaty 8 Territory.

Our department is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and coordination of the natural gas and propane systems that serve our communities. While each community has its own unique energy infrastructure, our commitment remains the same: to provide safe, reliable, and dependable utility services to our members.

Our Communities

Chateh

Chateh’s natural gas system is supplied through a Rural Metering Operation (RMO) connected to one of TC Energy’s main natural gas pipelines, originating from the Zama City area and extending toward southwestern Alberta.

The gas entering through this connection is distributed through Chateh’s local utility system to provide service to members and community facilities.

Bushe River

Bushe River’s natural gas system is supplied through a Rural Metering Operation (RMO) connected to the Northern Lights Gas Co-op pipeline system. The gas entering through this connection is distributed through Bushe’s local utility system to provide service to members and community facilities

Meander River

Meander River operates a propane-based utility system. A large propane storage vessel located within the community receives propane deliveries, which are then distributed through the local system to provide energy service to members.

Supporting Our Communities

Reliable energy is an essential part of everyday life. From heating homes to supporting community facilities, our utility systems play an important role in the well-being of our members.

The DTFN Natural Gas Utility works to ensure our systems are operated safely, maintained responsibly, and supported for the long term.

Our department is proud to serve Chateh, Bushe River, and Meander River and to contribute to the continued strength and well-being of our communities.
