Life Skills Coach Training Opportunity for DTFN members

A good candidate for a life skills coach in is someone empathetic, an excellent communicator and listener, non-judgmental, creative, and passionate about helping others, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills, who also seeks formal training (like ICF-accredited programs) to build credibility and master coaching ethics, boundaries, and specific client needs, while understanding their scope beyond therapy.

Strong Communication: Excellent listening, oral, and written skills, picking up on non-verbal cues.

Professionalism: Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, and a professional demeanor.

Professional Attributes:

Desire for Training: While not mandatory in Canada, formal training (e.g., ICF-certified) builds credibility and skills.

Ethical Understanding: Knowledge of ethical guidelines, boundaries, and the difference between coaching and counseling.

Niche & Focus: Developing a specific area of focus (e.g., career, relationships, stress) makes you more effective.

A background in frontline or services

Who Makes a Good Candidate?
Anyone with a passion for helping people can start, but successful coaches often have backgrounds in helping professions, management, or have undergone significant personal development and training to gain the necessary skills and credibility. They are individuals who enjoy guiding others through personal growth and change.

The training is in High Level booked two weeks at a time, so it would be two weeks every month for 3-months. The sessions will be 3 weeks apart.
